At this point is when I realized other computers on my network that followed the same upgrade path had the same issue ALL having Bitdefender in common.

This issue followed when Microsoft again upgraded recently to Wind(as explained in previous emails I tried everything from reboots, to upgrading drivers, to flashing firmware to switches and routers, to trying different NICs and nothing worked).

However, when Bitdefender upgraded to Bitdefender Total Security 2019 AND Microsoft upgraded Windows to 1809 I constantly had slower internet download speeds than my rated gigabit I was paying for (which I didn't realize until much later when attempting to download larger files). Bitdefender Total Security 2018 migrated over when Microsoft upgraded Windows to 1803.migration was great, no issues. I've had Bitdefender Total Security since mid-2017, it was Bitdefender Total Security 2018 installed on Windows 64-bit. I tried turning off the Bitdefender firewall, no change.same result. I proceeded to test on my HP Spectre x360 by updating from Bitdefender 2019 to 2020.no change, still same result. So then I thought the only things in common are the switches/router.firmware updated those and reboots and still the same result, checked with ISP and there is no issue with my line. Just to make completely sure, I also ran a speed test on my HP Spectre x360 laptop through a USB C to Ethernet Gigabit adapter.ALSO nowhere near the rated speed. I then decided to run the same speed test on my fiancee's computer, her computer also is only reaching 15-30% of our gigabit internet speeds but would be restored after a reboot.

So then I thought it may be a hardware issue with that particular NIC, so I tried my secondary Intel NIC.same issue, then tried with the 10Gb NIC.same issue. None of this helped, gigabit would only be restored TEMPORARILY with a reboot.

After some time, it could be minutes, it could be hours, another speedtest yields 15-30% of my rated download speed anywhere between 160-380Mbps (upload doesn't seem to be affected.maybe because it is already disproportionally low).Īt first I thought it must be Windows 10 and/or drivers.I updated both Windows and the drivers directly from Intel.
